Play Map LA
Research & Data Surfaces
Last updated: September 6, 2026
Play Map LA is a live inventory of ages 0–6 events, places, and classes across Los Angeles — not a research institute. This hub points journalists, analysts, and partners to the methodology and data surfaces we already publish, so you can cite or query real inventory instead of a marketing homepage.
Audience: journalists, local editors, analysts, and partners who need source policy, machine-readable access, or deep links into dated hubs. Parents looking for weekend plans should start at this weekend or the resources index.
How we ingest
We collect factual listing details from first-party organizer, venue, library, museum, city, county, and class-provider sites. Aggregators and social scrapes are blocked by default. Full rules live on /source-policy.
What we publish
- This weekend with kids, free & low-cost, and storytimes — dated or filtered hubs you can cite or deep-link.
- Parent Chat guides — evergreen and seasonal roundups built on the same inventory.
- Developers / public API and /openapi.json — machine-readable access without brittle HTML parsing.
- /llms.txt — public agent guidance and feed pointers for LLM tooling.
- /resources — index of parent tools, partner pages, and live hubs.
How to cite
Prefer a deep link into a current hub plus a short attribution. Press one-liner and contact path: /for-journalists. For scope or update cadence, point readers at /source-policy.
