The Petersen Labs workshop series is a hands-on experience created for curious middle schoolers ages 11–14. Taking place once a month from June through August, each session explores a different theme—STEM, History, and Art—through interactive projects, creative challenges, and engaging activities. Participants will dive deeper into each subject while building critical thinking skills, collaborating with peers, and discovering new ways to connect with the museum’s collection. The workshop is free with the purchase of museum admission. This month’s theme is Art! Unlock your creativity with The Petersen Labs! Designed for curious minds in 6th grade and up, this hands-on experience invites you to transform everyday reusable objects into imaginative works of art. Discover the power of repurposing as you tinker, design, and build something uniquely your own. In this session, you’ll craft a personalized driver’s license holder using paper art—cut, assemble, and decorate it to match your style. It’s the perfect blend of creativity and practicality, where art meets everyday life. Come make something meaningful—and take it with you!
