About This Event

Experience the vibrant spirit of Mexican folklore through folklórico dance, music, and cultural traditions from five regions, featuring acclaimed artists Manuel Fonseca and Quetzalcoatl Artistic Director Alfredo Lopez. Manuel Fonseca, M.A., Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist & Professional Dancer earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of California Santa Cruz in 1997. He previously served as dance director of a university student-run Mexican Folk dance troupe. Alfredo Lopez Mondragón is the Artistic Director of Quetzalcoatl. He composed and directed the music for the pageant play “La Virgen de Guadalupe” for the Latino Theater Company of Los Angeles. In addition to touring and performing with Quetzalcoatl, he teaches Latin American folkloric music in Mexico and Los Angeles, collaborating in the monthly program “Dialogos Culturales de Media Noche” on KPFK 90.7 FM.
