Architecture & Historic Preservation Lecture Series: "Constructing Long Beach: The Design-Builders, Craftsmen, and Artists Who Built This City" In honor of Long Beach Heritage's 2nd Annual Summer of Architecture events occurring here in Long Beach, join us for a fascinating afternoon exploring the history of the city's early construction and development. Early Long Beach boasted a number of talented architects, but it had a truckload of design-builders and contractors who built the majority of the city's homes and apartments. Today's neighborhoods are filled with early 20th century plan book designs of Craftsman, Storybook, Spanish, and Tudor revivals built by talented contractors. Who were they? Where and what did they build and why? Join us and learn more in this great program presented by local historian and LBPL librarian, Maureen Neeley .
